Testimony of Devashree Saha, Senior Associate, U.S. Climate Program, World Resources Institute

On September 16, WRI U.S. Climate Program Senior Associate Devashree Saha, Ph.D., testified in a hearing before the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Energy & Commerce, Subcommittee on Environment and Climate Change. The hearing, titled “Building a 100 Percent Clean Economy: Opportunities for an Equitable, Low-Carbon Recovery,” examined opportunities for the United States to rebuild from the economic crisis in a way that creates a cleaner, more equitable and just economy. Devashree’s testimony focused on the economic benefits of climate action and the recent findings from America’s New Climate Economy, which draws on the latest economic and policy research to demonstrate how investments in low-carbon infrastructure can be an effective way to reboot America’s economy in the wake of COVID-19, as well as set the economy up for long-term success.
