We’re thrilled to announce that construction has started on Candela first utility-scale solar project, the 7V Solar Ranch project based in Fayette County, Texas, which will supply up to 240 MWAC of clean, renewable solar energy into the ERCOT market.

This is also the first project that our partner, Spain-based Naturgy Energy Group, will own and operate in the U.S., and will become their largest operating solar project in the world.

The beginning of 2021 was an exciting time for us at Candela when we entered into a new partnership with Naturgy, which allowed us to broaden our access to capital and supported our ability to scale. Today, we’re happy to see the first groundbreaking generated by this partnership and our combined efforts.

When we founded Candela, we wanted to advance utility-scale solar development across the U.S. We are passionate about bringing sustainable, affordable energy to more homes and businesses, and this is an exciting step forward for realizing that vision.
