Design Optimisation with Sungrow PV Inverter – EQ Mag Pro

Sungrow has installed more than 224 GW of inverters. It is present in more than 150 countries and has more than 240 service outlets. In India, Sungrow has launched its 10 GW facility, recently.

Sungrow provides a wide range of inverters in the utility segment, be it central or string inverters, in the C&I segment and residential segment. Also, provide monitoring solutions, at remote locations through software and mobile-based applications.

Along with the inverter, mounting bracket, screw-in handle, DC connectors, cord-end terminals, screw sets, allen wrench, OT terminals and documentation come in the scope of supply. The mounting bracket includes 2 mounting bracket components and 1 connecting bar. The screws include two M4*10, two M6*65 and two hex socket screws. The documents include the quick installation guide, packing list, warranty card, etc.

For the installation of inverters, an optimal mounting location should be selected for safe operation, long service life and outstanding performance. The inverters with an IP66 rating can be installed both outdoors and indoors. While installing an inverter, choose a place convenient for electrical connection, operation and maintenance.

There are a few installation environment requirements. The installation environment should be free of inflammable or explosive materials. The location should be not accessible to children. The ambient temperature must be between 60⁰C and -30⁰C and relative humidity must be 100% non-condensing.

The inverter should not be installed outdoors in high chemically active areas. Prevent the inverter from direct exposure to sun, rain, and snow. The inverter should be well ventilated. & Ensure proper air circulation. The inverter should be installed away from third-party wireless communication facilities and the living environment.

The wall at which the inverter is going to be installed must be made of non-inflammable materials and can bear a load of more than 4 times of inverter weight. The installation must be done vertically or at a minimum back tilt of 10⁰. Forward installation or upside-down installation is prohibited.

There are a few points to keep in mind for clearance requirements. Reserve enough clearance around the inverter to ensure sufficient space for heat dissipation. The distance can be shortened to 200mm according to onsite conditions. In case the distance is less than 800mm, move the inverter from the mounting bracket or wall before maintaining fans. In the case of multiple inverters, reserve specific clearance between the inverters.

Sungrow makes its inverters highly efficient and supports bifacial PV modules. Inverters support 2 strings and 1 input which saves DC cable costs. PID recovery is done at night to increase yields. Inverters are IP66 protected, C5 anti-corrosion, string detection and I-V scanning with proactive fault diagnosis.

BOS plays an important role to achieve the desired Levelized Cost of Electricity (LCOE) for solar PV plants. The BOS components contribute considerably to the downtime of the PV plant during its life cycle which in turn affects LCOE or ‘Rupees per unit’. The best strategy to procure BOS equipment for on-time commissioning of a solar PV plant with budget constraints is minutely selecting suppliers or products of quality, reliability, safety, required warranty, specs-compliance, on-time-delivery. logistics management, after-sales service, and cost-effective price by systematic and analytical approach, quality and reliability and comply with requisite standards.

For single communication, which has 5 or less than 5 inverters, Wi-Fi single communication is recommended. For multiple communication, which has 6 to 10 inverters, EyeM4 multiple communication is recommended. For multiple communication, which has 30 inverters and power zero export control, use COM100D communication.
