EQ International hosted a webinar, ‘eSuryaCon Punjab & Haryana’ on October 25, 2021. Powered by Sungrow, the webinar was held for an expert discussion on the markets of Haryana and Punjab concerning the distributed solar market, rooftop and open access.
Punjab and Haryana have many opportunities in the solar and renewable energy sectors. Speakers discussed the policies, regulations, opportunities and challenges in these states.
Tusshar Sharma, Senior Associate, National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI), participated as the moderator of the session. Anjuli Chandra, Member- Punjab ERC, was the Keynote speaker of the webinar.
In her address, Anjuli Chandra informed, “We have 46,000 MW of solar power already installed in the country. Punjab has 1331 MW of installed renewable energy projects, including 884MW of solar power projects. We have 90 MW rooftop capacity in the state.” She informed the rooftop capacity in the state, revised net metering regulations and other regulations in the state.
Rajan Munjal, Leader – National Channel Sales (String Inverter), Sungrow India, informed about his company and its presence in India. “Sungrow is the world’s most bankable inverter brand from last two years. We have approximately 200 GW installations across the world. These installations are in more than 150 countries. We have more than 10 GW supply in India. We have 10 GW manual production in India.”
He further discussed the local manufacturing in India. “Creating a manufacturing house in India with maximum in-house or Indian supply chain is very important for us. We are trying to get all the raw materials from India. We are trying to increase our manufacturing capacity,” said Ranjan Munjal.
