Ecoppia Scientific Ltd (TASE:ECPA), the Israeli provider of water-free solar panel cleaning robots, today announced a contract to supply its solutions for a project in the 1,650-GW Benban solar complex in Egypt.

The complex, located in Aswan Governorate, operates in harsh conditions and needs to be frequently cleaned from soiling and desert sands.

For the project, Ecoppia will supply its light-weighted Ecoppia T4 solution, designed to fit single axis trackers. Information about the customer was not disclosed.

The Ecoppia water-free robots clean solar panels without human interference and are remotely managed through a cloud-based control system.

The company says it has secured orders for over 16 GW of projects in total, while this is the first contract for Egypt.
