Fortum commissions 250 MW solar power project

Finnish energy company Fortum has successfully commissioned its largest solar power project in India. It has commissioned 250 MW solar power project located in the Pavagada solar power park in Karnataka.
The company had won the project in a competitive auction held in June 2018. The company bid a tariff of Rs 2.85 per kWh.
Fortum already operates a 100 MW project within this solar park. In June 2018, Fortum had stated that the project will entail an investment of EUR 120 million and will be commissioned in Q3/2019. The project has slipped on its commissioning deadline.
The 250 MW project was Fortum’s last major win in the Indian market.
