France calls India a ‘major partner’ in energy sector
New Delhi: France on Wednesday described India as its ‘major strategic partner’ in global energy transition.

“Glad to address the World Energy Policy Summit in Delhi. Rich discussion on Indo-French energy partnership,” French envoy to India Alexandre Ziegler tweeted. He further said: “India is one of our major strategic partners in the global energy transition”.

In March this year during the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Delhi, India and France signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to cooperate in the field of renewable energy.

Through the signed MoU, the two countries pledged to work to establish a cooperative institutional relationship to promote technical bilateral cooperation on renewable energy issues.
