The EV industry seems to be truly getting charged up for a green energy revolution. After paving the road to electrification with convenient fast EV charger installations in Airoli, Navi Mumbai, GreenShift Initiatives Private Limited has set up yet another fast EV charging hub near Chembur, Mumbai.

GreenShift, which was founded in 2019, is one of the first movers in the fast EV charging sector exclusively catering to residential and commercial condominiums.

Amidst the clamor for ‘plug-in’ instead of ‘fill-up’ electric vehicle is powering up in India, Greenshift has plans to set up multi-level charging hubs around residential enclaves, business hotspots, IT parks, and other populous areas across Mumbai.

The company plans to expand its footprint across new markets, including Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Delhi NCR and Lucknow by 2022, with fast public charging stations. As a part of its first and second phase of installation plans, GreenShift aims to set up more than 10-12 fast electric vehicle chargers by 2021, and upto 100 during 2022, which will be a silver bullet for its ambitious carbon emission mitigation agenda.

India seems to be standing on the verge of an electric vehicle boom, with many states coming up with policy incentives that exempt battery-operated vehicles from paying road tax. However, one of the key deterrents to realising the full potential of electrification is an insufficient charging infrastructure in metro cities, said Mr. Satinder Aggarwal, Founder & Managing Director, GreenShift Initiatives Private Limited (GIPL).

Our fast charging network can be used by all electric four-wheelers. Our latest fast EV chargers can recharge vehicles within 45 minutes as it’s designed explicitly to charge up to two four-wheeled electric vehicles simultaneously with its dynamic power distribution capabilities, informed Mr Aggarwal.

GreenShift’s fast EV charging public infrastructure will go a long way in instilling confidence amongst customers. It’s a need for huge investments, but we believe it’s necessary to perk up the adoption of EVs in India. According to Avendus Capital, the electric vehicle market in India is poised for a major revolution and the market is pegged to be worth Rs.50,000 crore by 2025 in India. Taking a cue from this positive indicator, we are currently building consumer confidence for electric vehicles, and the ultimate success of the EV industry would depend upon a robust network of charging stations, opined Mr. Aggarwal.

MANAGEMENT PROFILE

MR. SATINDER AGGARWAL, FOUNDER & MANAGING DIRECTOR, GREENSHIFT INITIATIVES PRIVATE LIMITED

An engineering graduate with proven expertise in electrical design specializing in energy efficiency, quality and distribution, Mr. Aggarwal embarked on his business journey in 1990.
It was his maiden power distribution equipment manufacturing venture, which produced a diverse range of power capacitors, reactive power compensation systems, electric control panels, motor control centers, automatic power factor control (APFC), distribution boards and special application panels.

In 2011, the group commenced its solar energy turnkey services that offered design, engineering procurement and construction (EPC), and operations & maintenance (O&M) services for solar PV power generation.

It built its first turnkey project by commissioning a 21-MWP solar plant at Solapur. Subsequently, in 2016, its first solar PV power plant was launched as per the renewable energy supply company (RESCO) model. Similarly, in 2017, the group built a 70-MWp Solar Park at Satara with 132 KV evacuation systems, and designed and engineered a 100 MWp solar power plant for a leading renewable energy company.

With over three decades of strong presence in the Indian electrical and solar power sector, Mr. Aggarwal launched GreenShift Initiatives Private Limited in 2019—a solar-as-a-service company with an aim to offers zero-investment in rooftop solar installation, fast electric vehicle (EV) charging services and carbon credit monetization plan, thereby fostering green climate solution across all major metro cities.
