In an exclusive interaction with CRN India, Hartek Singh, Founder & Group CMD, Hartek Group, talks about their strategies to create a stronghold of engineering, procurement and construction of power system projects across the country. Further, he highlights the group’s partnership with Schneider and how Hartek Group is leveraging high-end technologies through this partnership

What is your strategy for 2020 in order to strengthen your reach in the market?
We will continue to focus on our core business of engineering, procurement and construction of power system projects across the country. Our objective is to take up an extra-high-voltage substation of 400 KV and create more value in India’s power transmission and distribution space. Hartek Solar, our rooftop solar division, has already forayed into the residential space with a mission of contributing to the larger objective of providing electricity to every household.

Sustainable infrastructure is the need of the hour for the country, and we will continue to add value through our renewable assets across India. Serving as a backward integration model, our manufacturing division will continue to develop a complete range of power distribution equipment in accordance with the needs of the industry, ranging from low-voltage to medium-voltage switchboard panels, to ensure a competitive advantage for our EPC business.

What’s the group’s approach for the Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets?
Our focus is more on utilities and independent power producers as far as substation and solar grid EPC projects are concerned. In the rooftop solar domain, we will replicate the success of our business model in Chandigarh to other cities in due course of time. We have also devised a strategy to bag smart grid orders in the upcoming Smart City projects envisaged across the country.

How are you leveraging technologies to accelerate business growth?
While we will continue to contribute significantly towards building a state-of-the-art T&D network based on smart grid applications, we are working on gas-insulated substations as well. In the rooftop solar domain, we have introduced customised solutions based on a unique remote sensing technology, so as to attract residential consumers. We believe in working on our focus areas and building world-class power and renewable energy infrastructure across the country. We integrate most of the state-of-the-art technologies in our infrastructure projects and constantly innovate our products. Technologies across the world shape our future, and we integrate the best of technologies to add value to every life we touch.

Please give us some details about your partnership with Schneider
My journey with Schneider began in 1988 while marketing their products. Today we cherish this 30-year-old relationship, taking the business forward by leveraging the latest technologies. We take the technology from Schneider in order to introduce high-end digital panels, automation and integrating their technology in our manufacturing zone to take the business forward. Their manufacturing panels are backward integrated to our power infrastructure as well.
