IEI holds seminar on renewable energy technologies
Fatehgarh Sahib: A seminar on Renewable energy technologies was organised here on Friday by the Institution of Engineers (India) (IEI) in association with Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College Fatehgarh Sahib.
Dr Lini Matthews, Associate Professor, NITTTR, Chandigarh who was also the Chief Guest on the occasion, talked about the modern era energy grid and how we are integrating renewable resources .She gave an interesting linkage between internet of things and how it can be useful in managing the smart grid projects in India. She motivated the young engineers to participate in such field.
The Principal of the College, Major General Dr G.S Lamba said that is a privilege to organise such events in collaboration with IEI. While citing examples from the ancient history he said that India was at the peak of technological development even in the past and it can be collaborated from our revered texts adding that renewable energy is a contemporary topic which can be inter linked with the human civilization.
Convener of the seminar Dr Gursewak Singh Brar HOD Electrical department apprised the gathering about the topics of seminar. He elaborated importance of renewable energy sources and said that many topics like solar, nuclear, hydro ,windmill, smart grid are being covered in this seminar. In this interactive seminar 32 research papers after being peer reviewed have been accepted, he added.
