Cutting short his three-day tour of Bundelkhand, chief minister Akhilesh Yadav will now restrict his programme to a day-long tour of Mahoba and Jhansi to inaugurate solar power projects in the two districts.

Akhilesh was originally tipped to spend three consecutive days in Bundelkhand, campaigning for the Samajwadi Party on board his Vikas Rath. However, last-minute changes to the plan are believed to have been made following the ticket distribution issue hotting up in the party. The CM must have preferred to stay in Lucknow to iron out internal party issues before heading out to campaign ahead of the UP polls, says an insider.

As a part of his day-long programme, Akhilesh will inaugurate five solar power projects totalling 105 MWs in Mahoba and Lalitpur. In Jhansi, in addition to addressing a public meeting, the CM will distribute Samajwadi pension, laptops, and old age pensions and various subsidies to beneficiaries identifies under different government schemes.
