KFA alleges irregularity in SAUBHAGYA scheme

Karbi Farmers’ Association (KFA), a Diphu based social organization , on Saturday, submitted a memorandum urging the Deputy General Manager, Karbi Anglong North Cachar Electrical Circle, APDCL (CAR), Diphu to initiate urgent action in matter related to implementation of the SAUBHAGYA free installation in both the hill districts of Karbi Anglong, while accusing the APDCL of indulging in massive corruption including extortion of huge sum from common consumers.

KFA in its memorandum alleged that the APDCL have been charging and collecting money ranging between rupees 3,400 to 4,000 from beneficiaries for solar plates and accessories which are to be distributed free of cost to identified beneficiaries under KANCH-1 in West Karbi Anglong, KANCH-2 in Lumbajong, Langsomepi, KANCH-3 in Howraghat and Rongmongve, KANCH-4 in Samelangso, and KANCH-5 in Nilip and Bokajan where public have alleged collection of money for solar plates and accessories. KFA further urged the DGM to file FIR against persons involved in illegal collection of money and action to be taken as per the law. KFA, in its memo, has demanded that the DGM should release the names of the beneficiary of the government scheme and also the names of those contractors involved in implementation of the work in public domain and urged the APDCL to probe the allegation immediately.
