Kinematics announced today that they have been issued an additional patent from the USPTO covering Kinematics’ key innovations for solar tracker actuation.

PHOENIX: Kinematics, LLC, the largest slewing drive manufacturer in the world, announced today that it has been issued an additional patent from the USPTO, broadly covering Kinematics’ key innovations for solar tracker actuation. This new patent builds upon Kinematics’ extensive patent portfolio and delivers KMI customers additional value in solar tracker actuation through higher performance and lower cost.

Kinematics, LLC has been the innovation leader in solar tracker actuation globally for over 10 years. The new patent protects Kinematics’ key innovations in solar tracker actuation, particularly the use of partial gear assemblies in a horizontally mounted slewing drive to allow for automatic range of motion control and hard stops in the actuator. This innovation allows for safe control of range of motion, as well as eliminating the additional cost and complexity of a full 360 degree gear ring in solar trackers, which are not required to rotate a full 360 degrees.

“This new patent demonstrates we are laser focused on being the driving force for additional value in solar tracker actuation, and builds upon Kinematics’ existing position of being the number one innovator and global supplier of slewing drives for solar and industrial applications alike” said Adam Plesniak, Kinematics’ Vice President of Product Development.
