Masdar Makes First Investment in Greece by Developing Solar Plant With Taaleri Energia

An agreement was signed on 5/5/2021, in an online ceremony, between the Emirati-Finnish consortium MASDAR-Taaleri and a consortium of subsidiaries of the Greek business groups Konstantakopoulos (Kyoto) and Vasilakis (Autohellas) for the creation of a solar power plant power 65 MW, in the area of ​​Asopia in Boeotia.

This investment for creating a solar unit is expected to be completed in 2023, when it is estimated that it will produce over 100-gigawatt hours (GWh) of electricity per year.

The agreement was announced and signed in an online ceremony by the heads of the MASDAR and Taaleri groups, Mr Mohamed Al Ramahi and Mr Robin Lindahl, and heads of the two Greek groups, Mr Achilles Konstantakopoulos and Mr Eftychios Vasilakis, respectively, while it was attended by HE Dionyssios Zois, Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to the UAE, and HE Sulaiman Hamed Salem AlMazroui, Ambassador of the UAE to the Hellenic Republic.

This project is of paramount importance as it is the first investment in Greece of MASDAR, an energy group owned by the Government of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, through the state investment fund Mubadala.

It is noted that the MASDAR Group is a pioneer in the field of renewable energy development worldwide, with a variety of foreign partnerships and investments abroad.
