MaxGen Energy Services, the leading independent operations and maintenance (O&M) company in the U.S, serving a large fleet of distributed generation (DG) and utility-scale solar power plants, announced today that it has acquired the commercial services unit of Next Phase Solar, a provider of solar O&M services to a wide range of owners, equipment manufacturers, financiers, and EPC contractors. MaxGen acquired Next Phase Solar commercial unit from Enphase Energy, Inc.

“MaxGen is very excited to welcome Next Phase Solar to our rapidly expanding company,” said MaxGen CEO Mark McLanahan. “The Next Phase team is highly-regarded for their successful solar operations and management services throughout the U.S. We both have extensive industry expertise, a customer-oriented service culture, and the drive for outstanding asset performance. Our customers have large, complex and geographically distributed portfolios that require a sophisticated operator to meet their needs. With this acquisition, MaxGen is establishing a new national standard for care, quality, and control of distributed energy assets. U.S. energy infrastructure is rapidly transforming with the growth of solar, battery energy storage, and EV charging networks. MaxGen is well-positioned to service all of these asset classes with our professional, cross-trained team of operations and field service specialists. It’s very exciting to be able to play such a key role in supporting the operations of our customers’ ever-growing energy asset portfolios. This acquisition will add over 1,000 sites to our existing portfolio of 3,000 sites that we already manage nationally. Achieving high service density within our service portfolio is a key goal for us, and means our experienced technicians spend less time traveling and more time onsite ensuring equipment uptime and high quality plant operations. That means maximum power, performance and profits for our customers’ assets.”

“We’re thrilled to be joining MaxGen,” said Simon Wilson, General Manager, Next Phase Solar. “From our experience, customers are looking for professional, reliable, independent service partners that can prioritize their solar service needs. Together with MaxGen we extend our expertise and nationwide presence to our existing and future clients. MaxGen is solely focused on O&M, which is a great fit for our Next Phase team. We have a vision that solar will become a permanent and lasting part of the energy landscape, and believe that will only be possible if these systems are performing optimally and supported by a mature service infrastructure. We are excited to be on the front lines of achieving that goal.”
