meteocontrol GmbH, the specialist for professional remote monitoring and quality assurance for solar systems, has expanded its monitoring portal: The newly developed portlet in the VCOM virtual control room now visualizes the measured values from SolarEdge’s module-level monitoring platform. SolarEdge Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: SEDG) is one of the world’s leading providers of PV inverters, power optimizers, and module-level monitoring.

“The operators of large systems and system portfolios in particular will benefit from the collaboration between meteocontrol and SolarEdge,” said Martin Schneider, Managing Director of meteocontrol. “The integration of SolarEdge measured values from its monitoring platform into the VCOM results in a standardized, comprehensive monitoring system for all PV plants in a portfolio, while allowing the monitoring of each individual plant at the module level.” The virtual control room is the ideal monitoring platform when bundling together various PV projects: Thanks to standardized reporting, clear analyses and system comparability, system operators can work efficiently and immediately respond to incidents or power losses.

With the virtual control room, meteocontrol offers a flexible monitoring solution which can integrate measurement data from monitoring components of various manufacturers and prepare it for analysis and visualization purposes. The integration of SolarEdge measurement data on the module plane represents a further technological advancement for the meteocontrol portal and offers numerous advantages. Holger Schroth, Technical Marketing Manager at SolarEdge, stated: “SolarEdge is committed to working with solar energy leaders, like meteocontrol, in order to improve the solar energy experience and advance the industry. This combination means that shared SolarEdge and meteocontrol VCOM customers will have an integrated monitoring solution to help ensure optimum system performance.” With its monitoring solutions, meteocontrol is one of the world’s leading providers and currently monitors around 41,000 solar systems with a total power output of over 11 GWp.
