Bhopal: Emphasising on according priority to solar power, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath averred on Thursday that – besides promoting decentralised projects – efforts should be made to ensure consumption of generated power within the state itself, official sources said.
During a meeting with officers of the New and Renewable Energy and Energy departments at Mantralaya, he said, “Select 20 viable blocks which can provide the entire quantum of electricity through solar power for agrarian activities.
The Urja Vikas Nigam must instal two lakh solar pumps in the state at places where line expansion was envisaged under the Mukhya Mantri Sthayi Krishi Pump Connection Yojana, thereby saving funds. Heliacal energy ought to be utilised in industries as well. Moreover, consumers of various categories should be encouraged to establish solar ventures. Endeavours must be made to meet demand through such power.
