Case of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd. seeking approval for Purchase of Power from new Bagasse based Co-Generation Projects through Memorandum of Understanding Route

1. The Case No. 2 of 2021 is partly allowed.

2. Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd. is allowed to enter into EPA/PPA through MoU with the new bagasse-based co-generation plants upto capacity of 1350 MW at the tariff of Rs. 4.75 per unit for a tenure of 20 years subject to the conditions laid down at para 10.8 above.

3. All other terms and conditions of MERC RE Tariff Regulations, 2019 shall be complied with and no deviation is allowed.

4. Power procured from such bagasse-based cogeneration plants shall be eligible for counting towards non-solar RPO targets of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd.
