New Delhi : NTPC, India’s largest state-owned power company, has started working on a hydrogen hub in Andhra Pradesh as part of its foray into hydrogen and energy storage solutions. The hub will involve the development of manufacturing facilities for green hydrogen and green ammonia-related equipment, production, and export.

The company has already initiated work for a hydrogen hub at Pudimadaka and signed a non-binding MoU with the Andhra Pradesh government for the development of a hydrogen hub near Visakhapatnam. The green hydrogen hub will have a capacity of 1500 TPD (tons per day) at Pudimadaka, with an initial capacity of 1,500 tonnes per day.

NTPC plans to install 13.4 GW of solar and 20 GW of renewable energy and storage capacity, with the project expected to be completed by 2030. The board has recommended a dividend of INR 4 per equity share of face value INR 10 for FY23.
