BAMBANG, Nueva Vizcaya: A leading alternative energy firm in North Luzon is setting up its new national corporate office in this municipality to provide the solar energy requirement of Regions 1 (Ilocos), 2 (Cagayan), 3 (Central Luzon) and the Cordillera Administrative Region.

Peter Wilson, Solarius Energy chief executive officer, said their company provides the most advanced solar technology available and is cost-effective for their clients.

“Our vision is to create a technology that promotes the preservation of natural resources and sustainable energy particularly in Regions 1, 2, 3 and the Cordillera Administrative Region,” Wilson said.

He said Solarius has already installed over 2 megawatts of solar energy systems for residential, commercial and industrial customers, and aims to be the front runner in solar energy solutions in Northern Luzon by providing advanced and cost-efficient solar technology.

“We are here to cater to the solar energy requirements of residential, commercial and industrial customers with grid-tie, hybrid and off-grid systems,” Wilson said.

He explained that hybrid and off-grid solar systems include batteries that enable to backup power during brownouts and can power the loads at nighttime with energy stored during the daytime.

“Hybrid systems are significantly more expensive due to the cost of batteries, but enable a lot more energy bill savings than grid-tie systems can. If 100-percent bill elimination is the objective, then we recommend considering a hybrid solar system,” Wilson said.

On the other hand, he said their grid-tie solar systems by comparison are less expensive, as they do not use batteries because these systems only work during the daytime while the sun is shining and shut down automatically during brownouts.

He said typical energy bill savings with grid-tie systems is 20 percent to 30 percent depending if one’s energy consumption is daytime or nighttime biased.

“We supply only tier 1 products including panels, inverters and batteries. Our installation practices are the best in the country ensuring full compliance with the Philippine Electrical Code for safety and easy approval of net metering with local energy cooperatives,” Wilson said.

Meanwhile, he said Solarius is proud to be the first solar company in the Philippines to drive a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) with Mistubishi’s world leading and innovative technology.

He said the Outlander PHEV will be charged with solar energy for maximum environmental benefits and savings.

“We are spearheading the country’s transition to clean and sustainable electric vehicles. Solarius now offers solar electric vehicle charging solutions to customers throughout Luzon,” Wilson said.
