Round Table Conference held at FORTI Board Room on the 2nd February’2021 Jointly organized by Rajasthan Solar Association & FORTI On the impact of No Net metering to the Industrial & Commercial Customers

This Round Table Conference was ideally planned to involve all those Industrial Associations to seek their view points on the policy changes and based on the response and attendance the conference was a grand success.

The meeting was attended by Hon’ble Executive President, FORTI Mr. Arun Agarwal, Hon’ble Chairman, Energy Committee, FORTI Mr.Sunil Bansal, who is also the Hon’ble General Secretary of the Rajasthan Solar Association, RSA Members Mr. Rajeshwar Rajpurohit, Mr. Arun Mahala, Mr. Ramakant Jangid, Senior Vice President of the Hotel Association of Jaipur Mr. M Husain Khan, President of the Association of Malviya Nagar Industries & Institution Mr. S.M.Chaddha, President of the Rajasthan Iron & Steel Rollers Association Mr. Mahesh Chandra Gupta, President of the Kaladera Industries Association Mr. R R Joshi, President of the Employers Association of Rajasthan Mr. N K Jain and other dignitary members from various industrial associations, CII, FICCI, Assocham, Rajasthan Chamber of Commerce.

The Conference started with Mr. Rajeshwar Rajpurohit, Hon’ble Member of RSA on the Introduction of RERC Draft Regulation with his extensive knowledge gave a detailed brief about the changes proposed and its impact on the masses specially the MSME Sector.

This is followed by the Hon’ble Executive President, FORTI Mr. Arun Agarwal who started with his one to one introduction and assured for his whole hearted support to the Rajasthan Solar Association in its efforts to save the solar industries from collapsing.

Senior dignitaries later exchanged their view points on these policy changes and promised to support the RSA in its endeavor to save the Rooftop solar Plants from getting collapsed. In the process it is also been brought to the notice that the RERC draft regulations is in the English language that too in a Hindi speaking state where majority of the consumers, industry owners, traders are finding it very difficult to understand the technical terms of the said draft regulations. The entire team of the dignitaries unanimously passed a resolution to demand for the Hindi version of the draft regulations and to get it published in the print media with maximum circulation so that even a lay man can understand the said regulation thoroughly.

 

In addition it is also been brought to the notice that RERC is conducting the hearing process of the said draft regulations on the 10th February’2021 through zoom and other video conferencing mode which majority of the people are not ready to accept this as they are not that techno savvy as required and insisted for a Physical Conferencing Mode for actively participating in the process of hearing of the said draft regulations.

In the concluding session Hon’ble Chairman, Energy Committee, FORTI & Hon’ble General Secretary of the Rajasthan Solar Association Mr.Sunil Bansal in his presentation gave an exhaustive information’s as regard to the severe impact the general public are going to encounter in view of these policy changes which will indirectly affect the consumers, industries across Rajasthan due to not getting cheaper electricity, Collapsing Rooftop solar plants specially the MSME sector who are into manufacturing of components and other related products resulting in losing the employment opportunities and how all these will also going to reflect on the state economy.

In the end it is being decided to address the State Government through the Energy Minister as well the Hon’ble Chief Minister and to request them for their intervention in this matter.
