SFD Inaugurates Solar Energy Project for 1,240 Schools in Pakistan

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has unveiled solar energy projects for 1,240 schools in Pakistan, benefitting more than 135,000 students annually.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, Saudi Arabia through the SFD has provided three grants worth more than $333m to contribute to the implementation of 23 projects.

Currently, 10 projects are in progress and 13 have been completed.

These will provide clean, sustainable, and renewable electricity in seven areas in the south of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan.

The project supports the development of educational levels in the country. The initiative reiterates Saudi government’s keenness to achieve cooperation and solidarity between the nations.

The fund also provided 21 development loans, with a total amount of about $1.2bn. 12 projects have been completed, while nine are under implementation.
