Shizen Energy Completes 2.2 MW of Solar Plants in Japan

Japanese renewables developer Shizen Energy Inc announced today it has completed and started power generation from 2.19 MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) plants in Kagoshima prefecture.
Located in Shibushi city, the solar portfolio consists of three plants — Shibushi Matsuyama 1, 2 and 3 — covering a total of 34,401 square metres (370,289 sq ft) on abandoned agricultural lands.
Built under the solar sharing model, the plants allow the farmland beneath to be used for agricultural purposes such as the cultivation of pasture to be sold to nearby livestock farmers.
The PV facilities are expected to generate about 2.68 million kWh per year, enough to meet the annual power demand of approximately 850 households. Unit Juwi Shizen Energy Operation Inc is responsible for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the assets, the Japanese energy firm noted.
