New Delhi: State-run SJVN on Friday stated it has signed an influence buy settlement (PPA) for provide of 200 MW from its solar energy tasks in Bihar to state discoms.

Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN knowledgeable in a press release that SJVN has signed a long-term Energy Buy Settlement (PPA) for 200 MW Grid Linked Photo voltaic Energy Undertaking in Bihar.

In line with the assertion, the Energy Buy Settlement has been signed between SJVN & Bihar State Energy Holding Firm Ltd (BSPHCL) together with its two DISCOMs — North Bihar Energy Distribution Firm Ltd (NBPDCL) and South Bihar Energy Distribution Firm Ltd (SBPDCL).

SJVN has bagged this undertaking at a tariff of Rs 3.11 per unit via Open Aggressive Tariff Bidding organised by Bihar Renewable Power Improvement Company (BREDA).

Out of the whole 200 MW, SJVN plans to develop 125 MW Photo voltaic Energy Undertaking at Kakanchor, District Jamui and 75 MW Photo voltaic Energy Undertaking at Katoriya, District Banka.

The Energy Generated via these tasks will likely be evacuated via New Jamui and New Banka Substations respectively.

Sharma additional acknowledged that the tentative price of development and growth of this Undertaking is Rs 1,000 crores. The undertaking is predicted to generate roughly 421 MU (million models) within the first 12 months and 10512 MU over a interval of 25 years.

The undertaking is scheduled to be commissioned by November, 2023.

Talking on the event, Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Minister of Energy, Bihar appreciated the efforts of SJVN in power growth in Bihar the place SJVN already has made its presence with Photo voltaic & Thermal Energy Initiatives and execution of Transmission Line.

He additionally acknowledged that the Bihar authorities is contemplating allotment of 1,000 MW Kaimur Pumped Storage Undertaking to SJVN.
