IIM-Trichy has signed a memorandum of understanding with power PSU Rural Electrification Corporation Limited (REC) for financial assistance to set up a 2-megawatt solar power plant at IIM-T’s permanent campus coming up at Chinna Suriyur village.

The agreement was signed at the RECL corporate office, New Delhi, on Monday. RECL chairman and managing director P V Ramesh and Prafulla Agnihotri, IIM Trichy director, signed the memorandum in the presence of other senior officials of RECL and IIM-Trichy.

IIM-T will be first among all IIMs to have a 2 MW Solar power plant on campus, once it becomes functional.
