New Delhi: National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), an Indian statutory corporation invited bids to procure imported 4.53 million tonnes (MT) coal, according to the tender company on May 7, 2022, has floated three tenders for procuring 4.53 MT-1.5 MT, 1.6MT and 1.43 MT. of imported coal.
Seeing the electricity issues and Power shortage at plants, the company is mainly focusing the blending with the domestic dry fuel in thermal plants.
However, the Ministry of Power recently took the issue forward and chaired a meeting in which they directed all the states and electricity-generating firms to import at least 10 percent of their requirement of coal for blending amid shortages at thermal plants.
Moreover, the states were also directed to put extra efforts to import the coal for blending at their power plants in time.
