Joint Call 2020 on Digital Transformation for Green Energy Transition (MICall20)

DST is collaborating partner with Joint Programming Platform ERA-Net Smart Energy Systems (JPP SES) and Mission Innovation (MI) in the joint call on Digital Transformation for Green Energy Transition (“MICall20”).

With the Joint Call 2020 on Digital Transformation for Green Energy Transition (“MICall20”) JPP SES in collaboration with MI announces a new call for global transnational projects. The available funds amount to 21 million Euros.

The Joint Call 2020 (“MICall20”) by accelerating the implementation, adaption and knowledge creation of digital solutions in energy systems and networks, supports the following objectives:

  •  Advance the green energy transition in all sectors of the energy system while ensuring security of supply.
  •  Shaping new transnational business and investment opportunities by sector coupling and development of new value chains in innovative and cost-effective energy solutions, thereby creating new employment opportunities and contributing to the development of an environmentally sustainable financial growth
  •  Ensuring social sustainability and coherence with digitalisation in other sectors in the progression of the green energy transition.

For more information please see below link:

The solutions shall contribute to identify and address critical challenges in the digitalisation process towards a green energy society. Projects are strongly encouraged to involve “need-owners” and relevant stakeholders in all project phases to maximise market acceptance and uptake within the development of technologies and solutions. Projects shall also consider adoption by addressing market and regulation topics and are highly encouraged to identify and involve need-owners in development.

Funded Research, Development and Demonstration (RDD) projects benefit not only from being part of a global innovation network, but also of a network of Associated Partners providing the “need-owner” perspective and supporting projects from proposal phase until market uptake. Further, a transnational Knowledge Community enables exchange with other energy experts and brings project results to a broad audience. Administrative, communication and content-related support is provided by the ERA-Net SES Knowledge Management Team through information material, events and feedback along the project lifetime.
The compulsory deadline for expressions of interest is 17 February 2021, 14:00 CET. The targeted start for projects is before 15 June 2022.
