UP govt approves proposals of alternative and solar energy

Lucknow: To boost alternative and solar energy in the state,Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday gave its approval to set up a unit to generate alternative energy in Sitapur and clear 10 bids of 500 megawatt solar energy in the state.

The approval was given by state cabinet meeting chaired by chief minister Yogi Adityanath here. State government spokesperson and state health minister Sidharthnath Singh said that Sunlight Fuel Limited of Delhi will set up the alternative energy generation unit in Sitapur where they will produce 1.

75 lakh liters of green fuel annually by using 500 metric tonnes of sugarcane, farm and wheat wastes.

The unit will be set up at a cost of Rs 1550.
