LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh is making constant strides in the direction of energy efficiency and now plans to reform the MSME sector by reducing energy consumption and carbon emission by the micro, small and medium enterprises.
The state will sign an MoU with Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), for MSME clusters, especially, sectors like brass and foundry in Moradabad, glassware in Firozabad and pottery in Khurja, Bulandshahr, that have high energy consumption.
EESL will do modifications in the machinery and devise changes in processes to reduce energy consumption and carbon emission.
The Union ministry has already identified the carpet sector in Varanasi-Bhadohi and paper and pulp industry in Muzaffarnagar for energy conservation, and energy audits have already started.
