Saitex, a Vietnam-based denim manufacturer, has revealed the final exterior renderings for its upcoming mill, scheduled to open in August 2021.

Designed by Saitex in cooperation with the ACSC as Fidic Silver contractor, the mill is spread over total 100,000 square meter land and is located at Nhon Trach Industrial Zone, Dong Nai, Vietnam.

The mill has been built with materials in order to achieve LEED gold certification; the roof reflects the sun, natural ventilation is installed for production, office, and communal spaces.

Additionally, custom water filtration and recycling system is set-up which allows the mill to operate without the use of freshwater achieving a closed-loop and a system to collect the rainwater for flushing factory toilets, irrigation, and firefighting.

The Vietnam mill also has 15,000 solar panels with 3-4 MW capacity and 40 per cent of the steam is generated with industrial sludge. There is a 24,000 square metre of an organic hydroponic clean farming system which will produce 6 tonnes of clean vegetables per year, according to the company.

To achieve carbon neutrality by 2025, Saitex has planted 6,000 trees within the industrial park and 50 hectares of mangrove trees on the mill site.

Saitex is the world’s first-and-only denim factory that is bluesign approved, Fair Trade, and LEED-certified. Under the leadership of Sanjeev Bahl, Saitex has become a B Corporation with unrivalled technology and sustainability impact in the fashion apparel manufacturing industry.
