Exploring partnerships for local production
VinFast is considering forming a technical alliance or a contract manufacturing partnership with Indian two-wheeler makers. CEO Pham Sanh Chau mentioned that discussions are underway with several manufacturers to determine the best approach for localising production.
The company is determined to enter the growing electric vehicle market in India, where high-speed e-scooter sales rose by more than 30 per cent in 2024.
VinFast’s expansion plans
The company made its debut at the New Delhi Auto Show, showcasing a range of electric cars and two-wheelers. VinFast plans to launch two e-SUV models, VF 6 and VF 7, in the second half of the year, assembled at its upcoming facility in Tamil Nadu.
The company also sees potential for establishing a two-wheeler assembly line in the Tamil Nadu facility but is open to collaborations with other local manufacturers.

VinFast enters a highly competitive electric two-wheeler segment in India, led by brands like Ola Electric and large legacy companies like Honda and Suzuki. Despite this, VinFast’s focus is on delivering quality products suited to Indian consumers’ needs, at the right price.
