Jubilee Hills: Fascino, along with Youth for Anti Corruption, conducted a 5K Run for a clean & green Hyderabad, and in support of ‘say no to plastic’ campaign. The importance of cleanliness in our lives cannot be overstated.
Several youth participated in the run. According to organisers, maintaining a clean environment is for the health of all humans, as their health completely depends upon the atmosphere. A bad environment is solely responsible for spoiling the health of the people around, they said.
It takes 1,000 years for plastic to decompose into smaller pieces, which seep down into the soil and release chemicals, which eventually reach the water supply, the organisers said. Plastic bags kill water life.
They build up in landfills. Manufacturing of plastic bags is harmful to the environment because the process uses non-renewable resources like petroleum and natural gas. The manufacturing process itself uses toxic chemicals, pollutes the atmosphere and consumes energy, they added.
