Eco-friendly solar-electric boats will soon be introduced at Venkatapuram Cheruvu in Tirupati, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of AP Tourism Himanshu Shukla said in a press release.

The Tourism Department has signed MoU with Dolphin Recreation, Udaipur-based manufacturer and importers of eco boats. The firm will run five solar shikar boats, one floating restaurant and one rescue boat (dedicated for rescue operations only).

Each of these boats can accommodate four adults and one driver. Each round will be of 15 minutes duration.

In the evenings, the boats will be illuminated and tourists can enjoy a noise and pollution-free rides with music playing in the background.

“AP Tourism has received huge response from tourists for boat-rides. Based on the demand, we have organised boat rides at Bhavani Island, cruise rides at Rajamahendravaram to Papikondalu and houseboat rides in Konaseema. We are expecting good patronage to the new facility at Venkatapuram Cheruvu in Tirupati,” stated Mr. Shukla.

“Our goal is to provide a comfortable ride which the tourists should enjoy. We will ensure all safety measures. Using our seven years’ experience in this industry, we hope to give the tourists some of their happiest moments,” Atul Bajaj, Managing Director of Dolphin Recreation stated in the release.
