German-Turkish JV Borusan EnBW Enerji has commissioned 20 wind turbines with a total of 72MW in Turkey

EnBW and Borusan each have half of the shares in the company, which is expanding its Kiyiköy wind farm with the commissioning of 20 Vestas V136 wind turbines.

The wind farm in northwestern Turkey has been in operation since 2015 with an output of 28MW.
With the addition of a further 72MW, the wind farm now has a total capacity of 100MW.

This means that 280GWh hours of electricity can be generated annually and the electricity requirements of 90,000 households can be met.

Istanbul-based Borusan EnBW Enerji aims to build up renewable energy generation capacities in Turkey.

With the expansion, EnBW and Borusan are operating generation plants in Turkey with a capacity of around 577MW

This comprises mainly onshore wind turbines, but also a hydroelectric power plant and two solar farms.

The completion and complete commissioning of the 146MW Saros wind farm is planned for the first quarter of 2021.
