China’s State-owned Firm to Develop $500 million Solar Project in Uganda

China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) plans to build 500MW of solar PV in Uganda at a cost of $500 million.

A subsidiary of China Gezhouba Group Corporation, China Gezhouba International Company, will be the sole engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor of the PV system, which will be built in two phases. The EPC contract includes the planning, acquisition, installation and execution of project evaluations.

In an announcement to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the group said that a formal commercial contract is yet to be signed. In the meantime, the duration of the agreement contract is three years.

China Gezhouba Group Company is a Chinese engineering and construction company based in Wuhan, Hubei that works on energy and dams to road and bridge projects.
