Conergy Japan K.K., the Japanese subsidiary of Conergy, has signed an agreement for the sale of a fully operational 3.75MWp solar plant in Sannohe, Aomori Prefecture. Long regarded as one of the solar industry’s pioneers in providing solar services, Conergy provided its full end-to-end solar services to the Sannohe Solar Power 1 GK (SSP1) plant – which included project development, full turn-key EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) and Operations & Maintenance services. Conergy Japan collaborated with Center Denki KK on the local construction of the solar plant. The SSP1 project is located on a 9.755 hectare site and has been operational since December of last year. The plant is expected to produce approximately 4,166MWh of clean energy annually, enough electricity to power approximately 600 homes while eliminating the emission of more than 2030 tons of carbon dioxide per year. The energy supplied by the plant is being sold to Tohoku Electric Power Corporation through a 20 year power purchase agreement.

Hideyuki Otaka, Managing Director of Conergy Japan says, “We are very pleased to be working on this new project and to be able to deliver to our client an operational plant using all of Conergy’s in-house capabilities. These past 12 months has been a year of important strategic achievements for Conergy Japan, with the conclusion of the sale of our Ichinoseki and Sannohe projects. With these excellent results, we look forward to directing our capital and efforts towards developing further bankable solar projects and strengthening our growth prospects for years to come.” “Addressing climate change and meeting the ever growing demand for energy continue to be pressing concerns in Japan. Conergy is committed to doing its part in creating valuable power plant assets and developing vital clean energy infrastructure in the country by adopting advanced solar technologies while leveraging our financial resources and technical expertise,” added Alexander Lenz, President for Conergy APAC.

As the Vice President for Conergy’s APAC Development activities, Patrick Jaeger added: “The successful sale of our Sannohe plant showcases once again the quality of Conergy in Asia. Both teams in Japan and Singapore have done an excellent job at leveraging our improved in-house turn-key development strategy and creating substantial value for both our partner as well as the firm. The entire team can be very proud of this latest achievement, and we will use this momentum and our improved experience to continue investing in our turn-key development activities in the Japanese solar PV market. We are grateful to all our local and international partners and greatly look forward to ongoing collaboration and activities as the Japanese solar PV market prepares to move into its next development phase at the end of March 2017.”
