196-Kilowatt SunPower System Expected to Save 580 Executive Center $2.7 Million in Electric Bills Over 25 Years.
PLEASANTON, Calif., — Cool Earth Solar, a SunPower Commercial Dealer, has completed a 196-kilowatt (KW) high-efficiency solar power system at 580 Executive Center in Dublin, Calif. The fully-integrated SunPower® Helix™ Carport system will provide energy to 580 Executive Center, which is a co-working space that features executive suites and virtual offices for business professionals in the area. The project also included LEDs attached to the carport to provide superior lighting in the parking lot. The solar system is expected to pay for itself in under five years and save the company more than $2.7 million over the life of the system.
“The 580 Executive Center was a perfect candidate for solar,” said Rob Lamkin, Cool Earth Solar CEO. “Their large parking lot, high energy consumption, and ability to take advantage of the solar tax credit will enable them to reduce their electricity bill and free up capital for their business.”
The Helix Carport from SunPower is the solar industry’s only fully-integrated carport solution, combining high-efficiency, high-performance solar panel technology to help customers like 580 Executive Center monetize available spaces, like parking lots. With fully-integrated high efficiency solar panels that maximize energy production, the solution helps effectively reduce energy costs and save more money over the long term.
“We decided to work with Cool Earth Solar because we knew that they would build us a solar project that we were proud of and it’s turned out to be the most sleek carport I’ve ever seen, making our building look more high-tech,” said Kevin Ring, 580 Executive Center director. “After construction of the project, a beautifully built solar carport stood to shade a large parking lot for professionals who work at 580 Executive Center. We are very excited about the immediate savings that will result from this solar system.”
