During the 9th PV Expo (International Photovoltaic Power Generation Expo) from March 2 – 4, 2016, at Tokyo Big Sight, Japan, DuPont Photovoltaic Solutions will launch a new advanced material and highlight key collaborations to improve the power output, reliability and return on investment (ROI) for solar energy systems.
We are excited to announce the launch of DuPont™ Solamet® PV19B, which can enable more than 0.1 percent cell efficiency improvement over other products currently used in the industry,” said Chuck Xu, global business director, DuPont Photovoltaic Solutions. “We are committed to optimizing solar power output and long-term reliability through material science.”
Based on DuPont’s proprietary tellurium technology, DuPont™ Solamet® PV19B photovoltaic metallization paste combines excellent contact performance with the ability to achieve very fine line, high aspect ratio, and smooth finger lines. Moreover DuPont™ Solamet® PV19B possesses excellent paste transfer, allowing higher print speeds to be deployed such that industry average throughputs can be improved by up to 26 percent.
Through ongoing collaborations with customers and value chain partners, DuPont continues its legacy of enabling the success of the solar energy industry. At its booth (E14-37), DuPont will highlight the latest collaborations with TSEC Corporation on its highly efficient and durable E-Series solar panel. Utilizing DuPont™ Solamet® PV19B has enabled TSEC to achieve >18.7 percent efficiency in cell level and 270W power output generated by 60-multi c-Si cells. The high power panels specified for solar thermal application will be protected by DuPont™ Tedlar® polyvinyl fluoride film-based backsheets that are proven to deliver long-term reliability for 25 years or longer, under all-weather conditions.
Another collaboration is with REC, a leading global provider of solar energy solutions, on its high-efficiency, award-winning TwinPeak solar panels which are made using DuPont™ Solamet® PV76x photovoltaic metallization paste designed specifically to enhance Passivated Emitter Rear Cell (PERC) technology.
