In Detail : Kazam, an electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure startup based in Bengaluru, has raised $6.2 million in a Series B funding round. The investment was led by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), with participation from Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India and Avaana Capital.

The funding will support Kazam’s efforts to scale its device-agnostic EV charging and battery-swapping platform. The company enables seamless integration of various EV hardware types, helping create a more interoperable and accessible charging ecosystem.

Currently, Kazam powers over 68,000 charging devices across 80 cities in 10 countries. It has supported more than five million charging sessions and facilitated the use of over 45 GWh of renewable energy, contributing significantly to clean transportation adoption.

In FY25, the company achieved a fourfold increase in revenue, growing from $1.5 million to $6 million. It now targets $12 million in revenue for FY26 as it continues expanding its reach and capabilities in emerging markets.

Kazam’s platform is central to building the digital backbone of EV infrastructure, helping fleet operators, charge point operators, and energy providers manage and monetize their assets efficiently.

The support from IFC underscores Kazam’s growing role in accelerating EV adoption and decarbonizing transport systems, especially in developing regions. This new funding positions the company for continued innovation and global growth in the clean mobility space.
