New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki India Limited on Friday has announced that it has commissioned a 5 MW capacity carport style photovoltaic solar power plant in Gurugram. The automaker claims that this project comes with an investment of more than Rs 20 crore.

As it further claims, harnessing solar power has been a constant endeavour for Maruti Suzuki. Back in 2014, Maruti Suzuki set up its first solar power plant with 1 MW capacity at the Manesar facility, which was further upgraded to 1.3 MW in 2018.

With the latest project, Maruti Suzuki’s total solar power capacity has increased to 6.3 MW, as it claims.
