Metallization Engineer, Cell Technology
Job Description:
“ROLE / JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for a management and an execution of R&D projects aimed at efficiency improvement of crystalline silicon solar cells.He/She will be working closely with other project managers, R&D engineers, lab technicians in the execution of experiments in the Cell lab and production lines. He/She will be engaged in collaborations with third parties where applicable. He/she is responsible to keep a close eye on external developments in his/her field of expertise that might be relevant today or in the future. He/She is expected to operate to the highest standards of safety and ethics, in accordance with the Code of Conduct.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tasks
– Develop and evaluate new metallization processes to enhance the efficiency of crystalline silicon solar cells
– Optimize existing metallization processes in the cell lab
– Manage the project and report the status
Safety
– The KPI is zero safety cases
– Comply with the companys safety protocol at all times
– Participate in projects related to safety improvement
Communication and Presentation
– Ability to communicate and present at all levels of the organization
Others
Perform other duties as assigned. Duties will vary according to the degree of difficulty and involvement of the specific targets set in the department.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Keep up-to-date on new external developments on processes for silicon solar cells.
Develop a network in Singapore and abroad of experts in the field
Depending on the competencies developed, the engineer may be rotated to different departments

Engineer will be reporting directly to Cell Technology Director

Technical / Professional:
Minimum bachelor degree in electrical engineering, physics, chemistry or materials engineering
Minimum of 3 years experience in an R&D or engineering department in a manufacturing company
Proven track record of implementing new processes into pilot and/or mass production
Technological:
Knowledge or hands on experience with metallization processes
General:
Excellent team player
Good presentation, interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to gather and review resources and select and synthesize data for reports and other written materials.
High level of accuracy with special attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft office applications such as Word, Excel and powerpoint
Ability to work with limited supervision and through extended hours when needed to meet business commitments
Readiness to travel
Proactive working attitude
Excellent command on English Language is necessary. Additional knowledge of other languages is an advantage
Knowledge:
Working experience in Solar/Semiconductors/Electronics R&D is advantageous, but not necessary.
ADDITIONAL ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS:
Proficient in Software statistical tools is an added advantage (Minitab, JMP, etc)
OTHER REQUIREMENTS (Physical, Certificates, Etc) :
Physically fit
Able to perform standing work for longer period of time (at metallization equipment)
Able to wear chemical personal protective equipment (safety shoes, gloves, goggles)”
