Ministry of New and renewable Energy, MNRE issued an official memorandum regarding time-extension in scheduled commissioning date of Renewable Energy projects in view of the disruption caused by the second surge of COVID 19.

MNRE will separately notify the period of time-extension in this regard.

The official notice states that the activities related to RE projects are covered under essential activities. Even during the lockdown situations, RE project activities are allowed to continue.

The COVID 19 situation in the country has improved and many states have started the process of unlocking. The notice mentions, “The period of disruption caused by second wave of COVID 19 seems to be from April 1 to June 15, 2021.”

As a measure of relief to RE projects and facilitate the ease of doing business, the authorities have decided that the entire period of disruption, from April 1, 2021 to June 15, 2021, can be allowed as time-extension for RE projects that are implemented through implementing agencies designated by MNRE or under various schemes of MNRE.
