Munich Re invests again in Swedish onshore wind farms

MEAG is buying two wind farms in Sweden with a total output of 38.4 megawatts.The portfolio of onshore wind farms is located in Iglasjön and Jungs-Åsa, SouthwestSweden. Wind farm Jungs-Åsa was taken into operation in 2014, Iglasjön is under construction and is scheduled to be taken into operation during 2016.

Vendor is Eolus Vind AB, one of the leading wind power developers in Sweden. Eolus will also provide technical, operational and administrative services for the wind farms.”With these wind farms we are adding more sustainable investments with calculable risksand attractive returns to our portfolio, leveraging the know-how of the entire Group,” says MEAG Managing Director Holger Kerzel. Sweden is an attractive location for investments in onshore wind due to its favourable wind conditions.
