New Delhi: State-owned power generator NTPC Ltd today posted a 13.93 per cent decline in net profit for the financial year 2019-2020.
The company reported a net profit of Rs 10,112.81 crore for the fiscal year as compared to net profit of Rs 11,749.89 crore recorded in the previous financial year.
Total income of the company, however, rose 9 per cent at Rs 100,478.41 crore as against Rs 92,179.56 crore in 2018-19. For the March quarter, NTPC’s total income stood at Rs 28,278.75 crore, a growth of 25.43 per cent as against Rs 22,545.61 crore recorded in the same quarter previous fiscal year.
The company informed it had recorded the highest commercial capacity addition of 8,260 megawatt (MW) in 2019-20 which included acquisition of 2,970 MW capacity of THDC and NEEPCO.
