It is also trying to start converting public transport and shared mobility services to alternative fuels and is also testing hydrogen fuel buses in metro cities such as Mumbai. However, in Western India the prototype was being tested for intra-city commute. Now, India’s largest energy conglomerate, NTPC Limited, plans to introduce premium hydrogen fuel bus service from Delhi to Jaipur, and will be the first FCEV bus service used for intercity traffic.

No specific timeline has been provided for starting the service

In fact, the transition is not just focused on public transport. At the same event, Union Minister, Nitin Gadkari announced that in the month of March, he would launch an all new electric tractor in the country. The government is trying to buy 40,000 electric buses in Maharashtra.
