ReNew Power Spends Rs 1.1 Cr Towards COVID Relief in Karnataka

Bengaluru : ReNew Power Private Limited, India’s leading renewable energy company, has undertaken relief work worth approximate Rs 1.1 Crore towards COVID relief in Karnataka

Representatives from ReNew Power met Chief Minister B S Yadiyurappa and briefed him about the various activities undertaken by the company in partnership with various state agencies for COVID relief.

As part of its efforts to work with communities in the state, ReNew Power is donating 50 Oxygen Concentrators of 10 Litre capacity and PPE kits to the Karnataka State Medical Supplies Corporation Limited (KMSCL) for deployment in rural districts of the state immediately. The company will also donate 1 lac PPE kits for supporting the rural healthcare initiatives of the state

According to a press release here on Tuesday, the company also has provision for 10 beds each in Bidar and Gadag districts and assist the district hospitals at Davangere, Dharwad, Raichur and Yadgir with fully equipped ambulance besides supporting rural hospitals in Belagavi, Dharwad, Ballari, Tumkur, Gadag and Bagalkot with PPE Kits and sanitisers

Speaking about the Initiative, Ms Vaishali Nigam Sinha, Chief Sustainability Officer, ReNew Power and Chair, ReNew Foundation said, “ReNew Power is committed to extending its support across the country to fight the pandemic.

We are delighted to be a part of the State Government’s efforts to augment and strengthen the healthcare infrastructure in the state and will continue to extend all necessary support to the state administration.”

As an employee centric organisation, ReNew Power has also taken several proactive measures to preserve the well-being of its employees. It is getting employees, their families and support staff vaccinated.

ReNew Power’s CMD, Sumant Sinha recently announced that the company will provide 100 per cent salary for the first three months and 50 per cent of salary for the next two years, to the spouse or parents of an employee who loses his life due to COVID. It is also reimbursing children’s scholarship for education-tuition fee and providing education assistance to the spouse of the deceased.
