RT Koytango Private Limited has announced that it is setting up 100% free electric vehicle charging stations connected to grid-tied solar power stations. The company has tied up with multiple green funds for this exercise and will offer free EV charging for all types of vehicles.

RT Koytango said that any business establishment, school, college, office, factory with a minimum of 100kw load and 10,000 sqft rooftop space can avail the entire solar plant free plus free charging of all electric vehicles for 3 years.

The company added that easy availability of charging stations is posing the bigger challenge towards the rapid push for EVs in the country.

RT Koytango stated that it is important to have both slow and fast charging stations outside every building in the city. Many vehicles are coming up with lead acid batteries and lithium-ion batteries, the company noted.

Mrinalini Kapoor and Raninder K Chahal, Founders, RT Koytango, said that green power has to be generated exactly where charging is happening as the local Delhi Grid will not be able to take the additional load of 2 to 5 lac electric vehicles plugging in for charging.

Kapoor and Chahal further stated that putting up electric vehicle charging stations and drawing grid power won’t be a good option as the whole exercise would end up burning coal instead of burning petrol. Electric vehicles will not remove pollution if charging is done from grid power, they added.
