In 2015 solar cell manufacturer Sino-American Silicon Products Inc. (SAS) with its subsidiary Sunrise Global Solar Energy Co. Ltd. (Sunrise) has placed orders to InnoLas Solutions GmbH (InnoLas) for a total of five additional ILS-TT high throughput laser machines for Passivated Emitter Rear Cell (PERC) technology. InnoLas’ ultrafast Laser Contact Opening (LCO) process helps to increase solar cell efficiency, thus reducing the overall cost of solar power.InnoLas had already supplied fully-automatic ILS-TT laser machines to Sunrise in 2013, before it was merged into SAS. After an in-depth assessment of laser machines from different vendors, SAS decided to move forward with InnoLas only. With this last machine order placed at the 2015 EU PVSEC conference InnoLas is the exclusive supplier of laser machines for SAS’ 800 MW production capacity of PERC type solar cells.

Markus Nicht, CEO InnoLas Solutions:

“We are proud that SAS, a world leading manufacturer of PERC type solar cells, has chosen our laser systems after carefully evaluating the available options on the market. It shows that we remain the technology leader in advanced laser processing for the PV industry. Our fully automatic ILS-TT machine platform gives our customers a clear competitive edge.“

Ted Szpitalak, COO SAS Sunrise:

“SAS always strives to provide the best commercial solar cells, both in terms of high efficiency and consistent quality and reliability. Long-term collaborators like InnoLas Solutions help us to achieve this goal.“
