SCCL adds another 5 MW of solar power

Total quantum of power generated and synchronised by the SCCL solar power plant to Srirampur area 33kV line has reached 10 MW now.

Hyderabad: Reaching yet another milestone, the Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) on Monday started the production of another 5 MW of power from its solar plant located near Singareni Thermal Power Plant (STPP) in Jaipur of Mancherial district and also synchronised the same with the grid.

With this, the total quantum of power generated and synchronised by the SCCL solar power plant to Srirampur area 33kV line has reached 10 MW. The SCCL has created a record of sorts by completing the works of the 5 MW solar power production within a month as the first 5 MW plant was synchronised to the grid on January 10.

A statement here said company Chairman and Managing Director N Sridhar and Director (Electrical and Mechanical) S Shankar played a crucial role in completing the task in record time. The power generated at the solar plant is being transmitted to light the Sri Rampur underground mines. In all, 5 lakh units of electricity has been generated, and the addition of 5 MW is also meant for the underground mines.

220 MW Solar power by March
“I congratulate all the staff and officers for completing the plant in record time. We must also work with the same spirit to complete Manuguru, Yellandu, Ramagundam 3 solar plants. Very soon, these plants will also start generating power so that we can reach the target of 220 MW production by March,” Sridhar said.

STPP in charge GM Madan Mohan, SE Transco (Mancherial) Sudheer, SE Northern Power Distribution Corporation Ramesh Babu, Chief Coordinator Muralidharan, DGM Srinivas Rao, AGM BHEL Subhas and others participated in the programme.
