Shizen Energy Starts Operation of 3 MW of Solar Capacity in Japan

Japanese renewables developer Shizen Energy Inc has commenced the commercial operation of some 3 MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity in Kagoshima prefecture.

The Kirishima Uenodan 1 and 2 solar power plants were developed by Shizen Energy, while Japan Benex Corporation was in charge of the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) works. Covering a 5-hectare (12.3 acres) area in Kirishima town, the PV farms have a combined estimated generation of a little over 3.43 million kWh per year, enough to meet the consumption of 1,100 local homes.

Sumitomo Mitsui Finance and Leasing Co Ltd and Uyeno Green Solutions Ltd are investors in the PV duo through Shizen Fund.

Asset management, operation and maintenance (O&M) is being handled by juwi Shizen Energy Operation Inc, the Japanese company points out in a press release.
